The name CRU takes inspiration from its meaning in languages such as Portuguese, French, Italian and Catalan: ‘crude’. This concept reflects the essence of the authentic, the unadorned and the necessary. At CRU [Plataforma Cultural], we believe in culture as a tool to transform, resist and generate resilience. We focus on the essential, stripping away the superfluous, and build projects that have a profound impact on communities and the contemporary imaginary.
